Awards & Recognition

    The South Carolina SHRM State Council serves the profession as the premier resource for best practices to the public and South Carolina human resource professionals.  We achieve many great things together and also want to recognize those efforts and achievements – whether it is a significant impact of an individual, a chapter or the combined efforts of the chapters within our state. 

    Below is a listing of awards and recognition that are sponsored annually by the South Carolina SHRM State Council.  If you have any questions related to awards and recognition, please contact scshrmcommunications@gmail.com

    Chapter Excellence Awards

    SHRM Chapters in South Carolina that have made a difference in the human resource profession and their communities are honored for their work. The Chapter Excellence awards focus on the demonstrated achievements and execution of one or more of the following core leadership areas: 

    • Diversity
    • Workforce Readiness
    • College Relations 
    • Membership 
    • Certification 
    • SHRM Foundation
    • Legislative Affairs 
    • Or ONE outstanding example of chapter leadership! 

    Chapters must demonstrate wisdom, knowledge, transition, achievement, success, inspiration and change through the execution and accomplishments of one or more of the core leadership areas listed above.

    Guidelines:

    • Entries must be received by August 31, 2022. 
    • A chapter may apply for one or more of the core leadership areas identified above. 
    • Incomplete entries may be disqualified at the discretion of the selection committee. 
    • The selection committee may elect not to award a winner at their discretion. 
    • Up to four (4) Chapter Excellence awards may be given. 

    Submissions are evaluated on the results they achieve. Results are evaluated on both a qualitative and quantitative basis. Awards will be presented at the September council meeting.

    The selection committee will be comprised of the following:

    • Council Director;
    • Council Director Elect;  
    • (2) additional council members who are not affiliated with a nominated Chapter

    SC SHRM State Council President's Award

    The award will recognize one exemplary Chapter President who has significantly impacted the performance of their chapter by leading with a combination of compassion, creativity and innovation.

    Please read the nomination criteria below and submit a nomination for your chapter president today!

    Eligibility

    To be nominated, you must be a president of one of South Carolina’s 14 local SHRM affiliate chapters.

    Guidelines:

    • Entries must be received no later than August 31, 2022
    • Only 2022 Chapter Board Presidents may be nominated.
    • Nominations may only be submitted by a 2022 Chapter Board Member, President-Elect or District Director. 
    • Self-nominations will not be accepted.
    • Incomplete entries may be disqualified at the discretion of the selection committee.
    • At the discretion of the selection committee, an award winner may not be chosen.

    The selection committee will be comprised of the following:

    • Council Director;
    • Council Director Elect;  
    • (2) additional council members who are not affiliated with a nominated Chapter
