President's Message

Welcome to the SC SHRM State Council website!  If you are reading this it means you are passionate about the HR profession and your HR career. 

South Carolina has many chapters throughout the state, all of which have their own chapter websites.  I encourage you to attend and join your local SHRM Chapter meetings.

SC SHRM State Council works in coordination with local chapters to give South Carolina HR professionals the resources and/or direction to get the information they need, when they need it.

The SC SHRM State Council plans the Annual SC SHRM State Conference in Myrtle Beach, September 21 – 23.  Plan on joining us there for lots of CE type credits and lots of fun networking with about 300 other HR Professionals.

HR professionals are the architects of the future.  Without HR in the workplace there is chaos, missed deadlines, new laws no one knows about, fines to pay, illegal interview questions asked, discriminatory hiring selections etc. etc.  The work of HR Professionals is relevant, important and not easy.  Belonging to SHRM and your local chapter gives you the network and the latest information you need to avert the chaos. (and maybe jail time.)
